Safety Net Partnerships

Policy

Working with Kaiser Permanente's research centers and our Institute of Health Policy, we identify and analyze issues of concern in health disparities, Medicaid reform, and health information technology. Partnerships with organizations such as the Safety Net Institute and the California Primary Care Association address areas of particular interest to the safety net, including the lack of specialty care access for low income and uninsured populations. Our work supports innovative approaches in the safety net, such as the "teamlet" model of chronic care management. In addition, we provide both financial and technical support to the Institute of Medicine's roundtables on the future of the safety net, health disparities, and health literacy.
