Grants

Kaiser Permanente values and supports our employees' engagement with the community. To encourage this involvement, the Kaiser Permanente Northwest Community Grants Program makes grants and donations to nonprofit organizations that have volunteer representation from Kaiser Permanente employees and staff. Our grant contributions are made in response to three types of requests:

  • From a Kaiser Permanente staff member who is a volunteer with an eligible nonprofit organization
  • A team of two or more Kaiser Permanente employees or health care providers involved in a community volunteer activity
  • An employee or health care provider who represents Kaiser Permanente on the board of directors of an eligible nonprofit organization, in a position to influence public policy

A typical grant averages $5,000. If a Kaiser Permanente staff member currently volunteers with your organization, please contact that person to act as a grant sponsor for your organization.

Community Giving Campaign

We match a portion of the amount our staff donates through the annual Community Giving Campaign. Last year, out of $477,73 distributed proportionately to the participating agencies, our staff contributed $344,863.

Kaiser Permanente Community Fund

The Northwest Health Foundation administers grants from the Kaiser Permanente Community Fund. Kaiser Permanente and community representatives advise the Foundation on the best initiatives to use the funds. These initiatives include advancing health equity, promoting intercultural health, and safety net infrastructure. The Northwest Health Foundation and the Kaiser Permanente Community Fund also makes grants to non-profit organizations focusing on advancing health equity and promoting intercultural health.
