Charity Care/Medical Financial Assistance Program (MFA)
When your mission is to provide health care for those who need it, you provide it to all. Nobody who comes to Kaiser Permanente facilities for care will be turned away for lack of funds. Our MFA program is one of the most generous in the health care industry and is available to those patients in greatest need. In full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, the MFA program provides temporary financial assistance or free care to patients who receive health care services from our providers. At the end of 2008, 104,274 people were members covered through our innovative Charitable Health Coverage programs.
