Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit, Northern Cali

Greater Southern Alameda County

In addition to providing health care and coverage for low-income people, Kaiser Permanente's community investments include grants, sponsorships, and volunteerism.  

The Greater Southern Alameda Area (GSAA) supports nonprofit organizations serving the cities of Castro Valley, Hayward (including Ashland, Cherryland, and Fairview), San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Union City, Newark and Fremont .

 

Grants

Our 2012 funding supports organizations that address the following community health priorities:

  • Reduce obesity and overweight rates in adults and children
  • Reduce teen pregnancy rates
  • Improve access to prevention and primary care services
  • Improve prevention and management of diabetes and cardiovascular disease
  • Increase violence prevention and education

 

Applications for 2012 Community Grants Are Now Being Accepted

We are now soliciting electronic applications for our 2012 Community Benefit Grants Program.

The funding ranges for 2012 community grants are:

  • New and innovative community grants: $5,000-$15,000
  • Collaborative grants (mutually beneficial partnerships of two or more organizations): $15,000-$30,000

We strongly encourage organizations to apply for a collaborative grant.

 

Application Process and Timeline

The application and all required attachments must be received by Monday, January 16, 2012 at 4 PM.

Before applying, please review our 2012 Funding Guidelines Brochure.

To apply, please use our online grant application.

In addition, please complete and submit the following supplemental documents as part of the electronic application:

  • GSAA Supplemental Grant Document
  • GSAA Budget Template

Grant award decisions will be announced March 23, 2012. Grants will run from April 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.

 

Sponsorships

Sponsorships are a one-time support for community health and community relations' activities and events. All requests must be submitted at least two months prior to the event/activity.  For more information or for a sponsorship application, please send us an email.
