"The end of all education should surely be service to others."
--Cesar E. Chavez
Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Relations organizes volunteer efforts throughout the year that support our mission of improving the health of our communities.
Unlike traditional corporate philanthropy, our approach to community involvement is more than funding. We work side-by-side with organizations we support to provide technical assistance, humanpower, and our experience and expertise.
Kaiser Permanente physicians and employees bring a wealth of skills and passion to volunteering. As a department, Community Relations' goal is to connect them with available opportunities, from hands-on volunteering to skills-based opportunities to board service.
In addition to organizing volunteers for sponsored events, such as the Nike Women's Marathon, Bay Area Black Expo, and the Special Olympics, Kaiser Permanente organizes volunteer activities for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, National Volunteer Week, and Be the Change Day.
